Happy Independence Day

Hello Ya'll..

Happy 4th of July.. I hope you are all having a beautiful and patriotic day. I had a lovely bbq with some friends and my hubby and my chihuahua, the Famous Agador Spartacus. Germann and I cleaned out the garage today. We straightened it and it is awesome. We are thinking of blowing up the pool tomorrow.. so we can sit in it and drink sangria..... nothing bad about sangria. Aggie likes it also.

I am still sick. The stomach is still bad since I last blogged. Aggie has been blogging few and far between as well. I was trucking thru my last few weeks of school and I needed to be done. I am glad we are done. Thank goodness we are. The first few projects have gone well at being tackled so far. Need to get really organized down in Fancy Pants land.. and we will be good to roll... Speaking of FPJ

I have been doing my research and we are rearranging the FPJ website. There will be more fun things such as fashion tips and Q&A with me, FAQS etc! There will also be a web-catalog. You will be able to shop straight from the site!! We have been working on many new designs here at FPJ and are thrilled to debut it. I will send an email when it is launched! I need to upload lots of pictures and there will be fashion tips and all sorts of fun things.

More on all of the good news manana!

For now.. Ciao!

And where have I been?

That is a very good question.. I have been blogging with Aggie.. I have been doing laundry, helping plan multiple parties and getting the stomach flu. I truly believe it was a case of salmonella poisoning, but who knows. It was one long week. It started last Sunday night and continued to yesterday. I hope that it is over and I can go back to work on Monday. I was home all week, much to the delight of Sir Agador and the cats, and I am sure also to the delight of some of my students. The feeling is definitely mutual. I go back knowing that I have *9* days left of the heat and torture. I cannot wait to get back here on June 26 and turn that alarm clock off for two whole months...

I promise to blog every day. It is on my *to do* list :)

Studio

I love the idea of having a studio to bead. My furniture was supposed to come today, but we ordered a desk for the second bedroom, which will be Germann's office for the time being. The basement will have the elliptical, so I can get back into shape. It will also house a dresser for bead storage, a desk my father made me, a table that looks like a farm table as a flat surface that I can bead on it and I will have mirrors and my favorite pictures up and it will also be a place of relaxation. I can't wait to get it all in order. I am not sure when the furniture will come, but it should be soon. It will be so nice this summer to have an area to work out and be creative in.

Did we all wear our Easter bonnets today? I wore mine... it was a large hat full of curls... hmm.. that sounds like my natural hair, oh yes, it is!

I did however, have on a cute mod style dress.. turquoise and black from QVC's Chloe Dao's collection. So adorable.. as soon as I learn to post a link to this website, I will link you to it... but I love her collection of stuff.

Tomorrow I will say more.... but for now... I am very tired...

Ho Hum

Today.. we are wearing pants....no one has commented. I like that. I think I like being one to blend in.. at least this week. I am not feeling too stand out-ish. But I am rockin the fro.. so that is always fun and exciting. A few people commented on that. I think I will grow it out again. I have to for nic's wedding...

American Idol last night.. eeh.. some were good.. my boy David Archuleta again brought the house down...some of the men were awesome. Let's see who rocks the party tonight with the ladies...

Dressing Again

Today..

Day 2 of my dress experiment. It is warm again today. It is, for the most part, pretty out. Therefore, I am in a dress again. Another day of people asking me where I am going. I am not sure if I should take that as a compliment. I think I should tho. A few people said I looked nice. Tomorrow it will be back to pants. I am definitely self-conscious about wearing dresses. I think it is not good to go against the norm. That is normally not my attitude, but I think that I am having an odd day.

Maybe I will feel better about the dress thing tomorrow....

Dress

Usually, especially in cold weather, I wear pants. I am ok with wearing pants. When it gets warmer, I try to wear dresses and to look like a lady.

Today I am wearing a dress. At least ten people at work have almost had a heart attack that I am wearing a dress. I guess it is normal because I look different. I have legs. Yes.. legs.. you see them.. they are here...

Anyway.. more later... Need to get some work done!

Laundry

Really... I do not mind to do laundry anymore. Having the machine in the house is great. Having the dryer is a live saver. Having them broken down totally, is another story.

From what I understand the washing machine is apx 21 years old. The dryer is like 10 or more. I think it is time for brand new energy efficient machines. I have been thinking and saying this for a long while. Last week I was in BB with Germ and we looked at them. The men we found working in the laundry department were morons and "not working in this department." SOOOOO we didn't purchase anything. Fine, not a problem, we have time. That is what I thought.. last night.. in my attempt to be a housewife, the 21 year old machine decided to not empty fully, not a problem, I though, are we off kilter, no, lets run another cycle, that ought to do it. A trick that I have from previous months of working with an old machine. I run another cycle and come upstairs to the living room, then I fall asleep. I go down this morning saying a tiny prayer that it worked and what do I find. A machine FULL OF WATER AND TOWELS. This, I tell you, is very exciting. Needless to say, we marched on over to Best Buy and got ourselves a new set of LG steam machines.... For the price I paid, they better fold the clothes also.

Bed

WOW! My bed arrived yesterday. It is insanely huge! I do not know what to do. I love it, the cats love it, Aggie loves it and Germ loves it. I cannot believe I have a new headboard AND foot board! I have never had a foot board. I love it. I can't believe I ever functioned without one. I am so glad. I have this fear of falling off the bed, so this keeps me feeling secure. I love love love it!

American Idol Results Night

Honestly, I am not sad to see any of these four go. They, to me, are very forgettable. I may sound like Simon, but for the most part, I know and understand where he is coming from. I love this show, I really do, but this year, it is not doing it for me. I forget that it is on, I do not make time for it. I am not into it. These people, most of them, have had record deals before and they are not impressing me.

More later...

American Idol - Ladies

I swear I am almost ready to stop watching. They got rid of my girl Joanna last week. I love her and I hope she does become an artist. She is the plus sized model and I adore her. She is GORGEOUS, well dressed, and fabulous and and and ... just fantabulous.

Aggie is sleeping thru American Idol since his soul sister was banished. He says he is no longer interested in watching, Besides, he needs a nap. We are going to bed after Idol and he likes to nap before bed to make sure he is ready to sleep.

I will definitely add more commentary tomorrow.

On a different note, my new bed is coming tomorrow....

Red Carpet

Last night was the Super Bowl of awards shows. I hope you all know I mean the Oscars. The dresses were spectacular. The jewels sparkling and the reviews, hideous. On Moviefon.com, there was a page about the Oscars. Their "worst dressed list" is terrible! There are a few that I agree with, but seriously. Nicole Kidman, Hilary Swank, these women looked gorgeous, all of the, with the exception of two or three. I think Moviefon needs a wake up call and needs to really see who worst dressed is. Their commentary is weak, their pictures stunning. I am shocked to see so many of these gorgeous women on the worst dressed list!

Can we also discuss BORING! Jon Stewart needs to be given some new jokes, or at least SOME jokes. It was all I could do to stay awake to watch the awards. More commentary later!

Massage

If I could do one thing each day to make myself uber pampered, it would be to get a massage every day! I know it may get old. it doesn't have to be a back massage, I have feet, hands, scalp, tons of things to massage.... Pick one.. I love it.. I love to be pampered. I always said my mother named me correctly!

Today I will set out for a massage and a manicure and pedicure. I will then do some Fancy Pants Stuff for Nicoletta for her wedding in November and we will make snowflakes. In the middle of all of this I will finally try to change my name and address at the DMV which could prove detrimental to my health. Or, actually, the health of others. Also, sometime today we will pour over magazines to decide what bridesmaid dress I am going to wear. I know it will be black :)

Aujourd'hui

Knitting Queen and I went to Target and shopped till we dropped. I bought some new fancy schmancy stuff for the porch. It looks so awesome... I have to say! Target has this line called Global Bazaar. The stuff is OUTRAGEOUS. I got a whole bunch of stuff on clearance today.. 50% off... A table, a lamp, baskets, clothes, picture frames, awesome stuff. Like I need another thing, but as I have said before.. I love to shop! :)

I got such fun stuff today, also pillows for my two chairs in the porch. I cannot wait to move the marble table into the room and get it DONE! One room will be DONE! I just want ONE ROOM!!!!! to be done.. also.. I ordered a coat tree that looks like a tree, so I am excited about that. It will hopefully not fall over when we hang coats up....

Cleaned it up.. will mop the floor tomorrow.. really get it into gear... we sat and had wine on the porch last night with Frankie singing to us on the record player....Oh.. the Good Life....

The Machine

My great grandfather owned a dress factory and my grandmother, his daughter, ran it. She had an eye for detail and her taste was impeccable. She created many masterpieces, cut patterns and taught many people everything that they know, including my mother.

Mom started sewing and knitting at an early age. The whole family was creative and had a hand in all aspects of the fashion industry. In the house where I am currently living the legacy of my own house of fashion was born. There was a large industrial sewing machine that used to hum a beautiful sound every Sunday when I was a child. She used to dress her sisters, her daughter and herself.

I look in the basement for that sewing machine, which, sadly, is now gone. I have many small items here and there; brown pattern paper, pins, chalk, needle threaders, thread, twine, that all remind me of them, those memories and those Sunday mornings.

If I sit quietly enough, I can still hear the whir of the machine and I can imagine my grandmother downstairs cutting patterns and dressing her girls, her 'dolls'.

Sitting on the Couch

Once upon a time.. there was a little teeny chihuahua, fuzzy, black, white, scruffy and full of kisses.

He met a girl..who was looking for love...Their eyes met. He needed a home. She needed a familiar. They agreed to live together. A tentative agreement. A tryout. At first, they were scared. She of hurting him and he, well, he of everything. You see, he was a tiny thing. Un petit chien. They soon realised they were the best thing that happened to each other. For almost five years they have co-habitated in bliss.

Today, he is sitting here, supervising her blog and adding his paw of approval.

At least her familiar loves her, no matter what her size.

Doctors...

In every day life, for the most part, I feel fabulous. I am into my fabulous-ness and my curvy self. When we go to the doctor, however, things always change. You have to get on the scale, you do not want to, they check your heart, blood, for diabetes, cancer, etc. The doctors make you feel like crap about yourself. Then you go back out into the real world and you are already in a bad mood, so you try to make yourself feel better and you go shopping. That makes you feel a bit better, until you realise you have a CLOSET full of clothes and you NEED to stop.

I adore clothes. I love them. I love shoes. I love bags. I LOVE FASHION! I confess and I digress.

I want to have an array of clothes for EVERY MOOD! I need to just stop the duplicates. That is what I need to do. One of each thing. Then laundry will be a lot easier. Life will be a lot easier. Getting dressed in the morning or any time of the day will get a lot easier...

Anyone with me on these thoughts?

How are you all today? I am hoping that this weather is making you all very happy. Yesterday I was all about spring and today it is back to winter. I am keeping things light with a fresh pink Burberry Scarf and hat in a sweet design that I got on sale on Burberry.com. Yes I said SALE on the site! Check it out frequently. You never know what you will get for a bargain!

SweatSuits

I believe in sweat suits. I think if you own five good looking sweat suits, it will make life so much easier. I think that every woman who has a few neat sweat suits will look polished no matter what. I really enjoy wearing a matching sweat suit on Friday so then when I go get my nails done I am comfy. I never wear sweat suits in the house except when people are over. I like to keep them fresh and clean and I always wash them inside out.

Bracelets

I love bracelets, I adore them. I find them addicting. I do think that you can never have enough bracelets on. Beaded bracelets with wire wrapping is definitely an obsession of mine. I long to learn how to create them, yet no one will share their secret with me. They are gorgeous and fall beautifully across your wrist. Why will no one share with me??

Layers

Let me discuss layers. I think that layering is the way to go this season. Winter is not really happening this year. I think that we are almost into an eternal fall. So, I think layering long sleeve tees over tunics or short sleeve t's or sweaters. I am telling you. Try it.. you will thank me!
